MST Systems Ltd is proud to be the technology provider behind the Official Timing,
Data and TV Graphics services to the FIA World Touring Car Championship. Since
2001, MST Systems Ltd has supported the premier international touring car championship,
known as the European Touring Car Championship, before attaining full FIA
World Championship status in 2005.
This series is broadcast worldwide, with the coverage filmed by host broadcaster
Eurosport. Venues for events stretch across the globe, with the 2007 calendar
comprising 22 races at 11 events, adding on an additional event compared to 2005
and 2006. In 2007, the action begins in Brazil at Curitiba, where local boy
Augusto Farfus Jr will be looking for a victory first time out in his new BMW.
From there the schedule should have meant a move north to Mexico, but with track
alterations not be completed by the pre-definied deadline, the series heads back
to Europe earlier than planned to the Netherlands and Zandvoort. Then its
onto Spain, France (to the tight Pau street circuit), the Czech Republic, Portugal
(the second "street race" of the year in Porto), Turkey, Germany, Great Britain,
Italy, and finally out to Macau again for the season's end in November.
Everyone will be looking to try and take the crown away from back-to-back double
world champion Andy Priaulx, who once again took the championship in a final race
decider around the Guia circuit last November to win the 2006 championship by just
a single point.
