MST was founded in 1983, providing official timing and data services to motorsport
events throughout the UK and leading motorsport teams at major international events,
bringing together the knowledge and experience of qualified officials to provide
these services. In addition, MST personnel were involved in the training and
development of timing officials licensed by the UK's governing bodies of motorsport
- the Motor Sports Association (MSA) for cars the Auto-Cycle Union (ACU) for motorcycle
sport.
As technology in motorsport was evolving at a rapid pace, so MST's technology for
timing events did too. MST has always been a forerunner in the use of computerised
results services and electronic automated timing systems, with the primary use being
for motorsport events, but with the flexibility to be used for any sporting event.
Providing reliable and accurate data services to teams, national and international
press, circuit based and TV commentators, in an easily readable format, and most
importantly in real-time.
Along with the development of motorsport technology, motorsport media coverage was
also increasing and MST has long been providing TV graphics services for live motorsport.
This began with UK based series including the British Touring Car Championship and
British Superbike Championship, and now also includes the FIA World Touring Car
Championship and FIA GT Championship along with all of these series associated support
events.
One of our longest running associations is with the Macau Grand Prix, run every
November, incorporating the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup, the Macau Motorcycle
Grand Prix and the Guia Touring Car Race which in 2005 also became the final two
rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship. MST has been providing the
official timing. data and TV graphics services to the Macau event since 1988 and
we are immensly proud of our association with the Macau Grand Prix Organisation.
Both the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival are also events support
by MST's systems and experience. These two annual celebrations of the history
of motorsport are always highlights of the international motorsport calendar with
which we are delighted to support.
